Five days of fun and learning
The Maryborough Art Society Inc. will bring to the 2014 Winter Art Festival five days of workshops with all the fun and excitement to Maryborough, Queensland. Check out our website and see the work and C.V’s of this list of eminent Tutors we have procured for you this year. No need to travel far, we are bringing them to Maryborough. Also 2014 is a special year as this will be our tenth year for the Workshops.
Cees Sliedrecht - Pen/Watercolour & optional mixed media
Cees will help you to create exciting and innovative artwork. His aim is to lead you in discovering how you can comfortably use a pencil, pen, charcoal and watercolour and put your impressions confidently on paper.
Lindsay Muir - Sculpting in Clay
A love of sculpture and painting are combined to “bring clay to life” using techniques which exploit inherent qualities of the clay and coloured glazes.
Christine Clark - Pastels
During this workshop Christine’s aim is encourage the development of your personal vision. Stretch your horizons, experiment, exaggerate and re-arrange to produce a lively image, using colour to create energy passion and mood.
Sandra Pearce - Mono Printing
In this 2 day workshop you will explore monotypes using plants, stencils and other found materials to create one-of-a-kind and often unexpected images.
Karol Oakley - Pastels
As a popular and sought after tutor Karol will take you through two days of traditional Pastels followed by three days of not purely Pastels.
Robin Hines - Watercolour
This outstanding Watercolourist will be here to tutor a ‘must do” class. Robin’s achievements are well known in Queensland.
Kevin Oxley - Oil Paints
Kevin Oxley, a very talented Artist who has works on display in many public buildings around Australia will show you how to be creative with oil’s and produce some very fine art.
Jenni Kelly - Acrylics
“As Jenni does best” What can we say in a few words about Jenni’s inimitable tutoring. After 9 years tutoring in Maryborough, she is still in demand.
Catherine Hamilton - Mixed Media
This class explores the endless possibilities with a number of media, using imagination, inspiration and originality. Designed to be fun it opens up a new world of discovery using a variety of techniques including relief printing collage and textures.
Lizzie Connor - Charcoal & Acrylics
This workshop is about the process of drawing/painting, where the focus is on spontaneity, personal exploration and freedom. Just as children do. It requires a willingness to play without outside pressures, expectation or judgment… drawing/painting for the simple joy of doing. The possibilities are endless.
Michael Fix - Guitar
Michael one of Australia’s leading exponents of the acoustic Guitar will guide you through this workshop as you explore the many possibilities with the Guitar.
